Location: on-site Warsaw, Poland (Hybrid mode – 3 days on-site and 2 off-site per week).

SKILLS

Mandatory:

  • Minimum 9 years of working experience
  • Bachelor or Master Degree in the IT or relevant domain
  • At least 4 years of hands–on experience related to the profile
  • Hands-on experience in Microsoft and Linux systems administration, preferably in distributed and complex environments
  • Has experience in analyzing complex IT environments and in designing, testing, and documenting architectural changes
  • Solid scripting skills
  • Solid Linux Systems Administration skills
  • Linux Administration Certification (LPIC-1, RHCSA or other relevant)

Nice to have:

  • Hands-on experience in working with virtual infrastructures (VMware technologies)
  • Hands-on experience in working with open source monitoring systems
  • Hands-on experience in integration of systems
  • Hands-on experience in administration, troubleshooting, integration and configuration of Jboss, PostgreSql, MySQL and Jackrabbit technologies.

Description of Tasks:

Task 1: IT Systems Administration

The aim of this task is to support Application Support Team within DIG Unit at Frontex in monitoring and executing daily tasks in the area of Systems Administration in the ECN and related systems.

This task includes the following activities (non-exhaustive list):

  • Maintaining, monitoring and support the existing ECN and its components (JBoss, Apache, PostgreSQL, etc.)
  • Monitoring antivirus on servers
  • Production and maintenance of documentation for daily operations, e.g. standard operational procedures, checklists, workflows and diagrams
  • Reviewing of logs on servers on a daily basis
  • Maintenance of the inventory of EUROSUR Hardware and software components
  • Identifying issues and risks related to the systems infrastructure of ECN and proposing remedial actions
  • Reporting on activities performed under this task

Task 2: Acting as the 2nd Line of Support

The aim of this task is to act as the 2nd line of support in the area of Systems Administration of the ECN and related systems.

This task includes the following activities (non-exhaustive list):

  • Handling incidents and service requests escalated by the 1st line of support
  • Troubleshooting and solving of any reported incidents and problems
  • Registering and tracking tickets in the relevant 3rd line support
  • Updating status of the open requests in the ticketing system in timely manner
  • Reporting on activities performed under this task

Task 3: Preparing and performing changes on the ECN and related systems

The aim of this task is to participate in the activities of the Application Support Team within the DIG Unit at Frontex in the area of Systems Integration of the ECN and related systems.

This task includes the following activities (non-exhaustive list):

  • Proposing potential changes in order to improve the systems infrastructure of the ECN and related systems.
  • Planning, testing and performing on the ECN and related systems tasks related to changes like installing,
  • configuring, tuning, patching, upgrading both hardware and software
  • Maintaining a log of the ECN systems configuration changes
  • Updating the related documentation and procedures
  • Improve the implementation
