AEG – Presales Solution Architect

SmartRecruiting is looking, on behalf of its client, for a Presales Solution Architect to join a dynamic IT&C solutions team. Is a Romanian system integrator with a strong track record of delivering large-scale projects for clients in energy, banking, telecom, utilities, and the public sector.

This is a client-facing role where you will combine your technical expertise with strong presales and communication skills to design and present innovative solutions.

Job Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage directly with clients to understand business and technical requirements, advising on the most suitable IT&C solutions.
  • Design and present end-to-end architectures (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, Cloud, Data Center, Security, UC&C), ensuring scalability, compliance, and alignment with customer needs.
  • Act as the technical presales lead in tender processes and customer engagements (offers, RFPs, compliance docs, clarifications).
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, demos, and workshops that effectively showcase proposed solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with internal commercial teams, vendors, and distributors to create competitive proposals.
  • Support new product and service introduction into the company portfolio.
  • Provide technical input during steering/decision-making meetings with clients.
  • Stay up to date with vendor roadmaps (Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, AWS, Microsoft, VMware, etc.) and incorporate innovations into solution designs.

Technical Requirements:

  • University degree in IT, Telecommunications, or a related technical field.
  • 5–7 years of experience in presales, solution architecture, or technical consultancy.
  • Strong knowledge in:
    • Networking: (routing, switching, SD-WAN, enterprise Wi-Fi).
    • Security (firewalls, VPN, NAC, Zero Trust).
    • Data Center & Virtualization (VMware, Citrix, storage technologies).
    • Cloud connectivity (Azure/AWS VPN, ExpressRoute, DirectConnect).
    • UC&C (Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Cisco Webex).
  • Experience in preparing technical documentation for bids and public procurement.
  • Relevant certifications (nice to have, not mandatory): CCNP/CCIE, Fortinet NSE, JNCIP, AWS/Azure Architect.

  • Strong customer orientation and presales mindset.
  • Analytical and solution-driven, able to work under pressure and manage deadlines.
  • Fluent in English (written & spoken).
